வாரணம் பன்னாட்டுச் சமய ஆய்விதழ் 2025 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 15 ஆம் நாள் துவங்கப்பட்டது. நமது பண்பாட்டில் சமயம் என்பது தொன்மை வாய்ந்த நம்பிக்கையாகும். சமயங்கள், பண்பாடுகள் மற்றும் கோயில் வழிபாடுகள் எல்லாம் நீண்ட கால வரலாற்றைப் பெற்றவை. மனித சமுதாயத்தின் உருவாக்கத்துடன் ஆன்மீகக் கோட்பாடுகளும் தோன்றத் தொடங்கின. இவற்றில் பல சமயங்கள் மக்களின் வாழ்வியல் முறைகளுடன் இணைக்கப்பட்டு அவர்களின் உணவுமுறைகள், வாழ்க்கை நெறிகள், கலாச்சார செயல்கள் ஆகியவற்றில் ஆழமாக பதிந்துள்ளன. ஒவ்வொரு சமயத்திற்கும் தனித்துவமான தோற்றம், காலம், வளர்ச்சி மற்றும் சமுதாயத்தில் ஏற்படுத்திய தாக்கங்கள் உள்ளன. அவை காலத்துக்கு ஏற்ப தத்தம் சமயங்களில் பல மாற்றங்களை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளன. சமயங்களில் சில மறைந்தும் போயுள்ளன. சில சமயங்கள் புதிய கோட்பாடுகளை ஏற்படுத்திக் கொண்டு சமூகத்தில் நீடித்தன. கோயில்கள், திருக்கோயில் கட்டடக்கலை, கல்வெட்டுகள், ஓலைச்சுவடிகள் போன்றவை அந்தக் காலத்தின் சமய வளர்ச்சியின் நேரடிச் சான்றுகளாக விளங்குகின்றன. இதன் மூலம், சமய வரலாற்றைப் புரிந்துகொள்வது என்பது மக்களின் வாழ்க்கை முறையையும், கலாச்சார உருவாக்கத்தையும் முழுமையாக புரிந்து கொள்வதற்கான நெறிக் கல்லாகும். அனைத்துச் சமயங்களையும் மதித்து, அவற்றின் கோட்பாடுகளை சரியான முறையில் உள்வாங்கி ஆய்வுகள் வெளிவரவேண்டும் என்பதே எங்களின் விருப்பம்.

The Vaaranam International Journal of Religious Studies was launched on January 15, 2025. In our culture, religion is considered an ancient and deeply rooted belief system. Religions, cultural traditions, and temple worship practices all have a long historical background. Along with the formation of human society, spiritual philosophies also began to emerge. Many of these religions became integrated with people's ways of life, deeply influencing their dietary habits, moral codes, and cultural practices. Each religion has its own distinct origin, historical period, development path, and the impact it has made on society. Over time, various changes have occurred within religions. Some religions rose and eventually disappeared, while others continued by developing new doctrines and adapting to society. Temples, sacred temple architecture, inscriptions, and palm-leaf manuscripts serve as direct evidence of the religious development of those times. Through these, understanding religious history becomes a foundational step toward fully understanding people’s way of life and cultural evolution. It is our desire that all religions be respected and that their doctrines be properly understood and analyzed, leading to well-informed and meaningful research.
